In the Metallurgy Sector, Sulfur Removal from Steel Is Essential to Ensure High-Quality Materials with Excellent Mechanical Performance

Why Remove Sulfur from Steel?

Even small amounts of sulfur can compromise the strength and ductility of steel, making it brittle and unsuitable for structural and industrial applications. Desulfurization helps reduce sulfur content to extremely low levels (as low as 0.0002%), improving the material’s mechanical properties.

DESOX BK – Briquetted Desulfurizer

DESOX BK is a calcium fluoride-based desulfurizing agent in briquette form, approximately 30x50 mm in size. It is used in the steel industry to remove sulfur and improve slag fluidity. Thanks to its formulation, it offers:

• Minimal dust generation, ensuring a cleaner and safer working environment
• Homogeneous desulfurization and deoxidation with controlled reaction and prolonged effect
• Optimized slag fluidity, making slag removal easier

DESOX GR – Granular Desulfurizer

DESOX GR is the granular version of the same desulfurizing agent, with a controlled particle size between 2 and 6 mm. This format provides specific advantages:

• Lower dust dispersion during application
• Uniform and controlled reaction, optimizing the desulfurization process
• Easy to dose and use, adaptable to different production needs

Usage and Storage Guidelines

To ensure maximum effectiveness, both DESOX BK and DESOX GR should be stored in dry, well-ventilated areas. Moisture may impair performance and, when in contact with molten metal, could cause dangerous splashes or explosions. Packaging in big bags on pallets allows for safe and efficient handling and storage.
